The \u20b92000 banknotes continue to be legal tender.&nbsp;The total value of Rs 2000 banknotes in circulation, which amounted to Rs 3.56 lakh crore, has declined to Rs 5956 crore as at the close of business on&nbsp;31<sup>st<\/sup>&nbsp;August&nbsp;2025.
