This initiative is a step towards gradually transitioning from a \u2018minimum commitment threshold\u2019 to an \u2018accreditation status\u2019 as the primary metric for investor sophistication in AIFs. The relaxations for these \u201cAI-only schemes\u201d include an exemption from the requirement to maintain pari-passu rights among investors, allowing the fund term to be extended by up to five years with investor consent, and removing the cap on the maximum number of investors.
