Under the revised Regulation 5(CA), Indian exporters are now permitted to open, hold, and maintain foreign currency accounts with banks located outside India for receiving full export value or advance payments for goods and services. It clarifies utilisation and repatriation timelines for funds held in such accounts. For accounts maintained in banks located within IFSCs, exporters may retain funds for up to three months from the date of receipt. For accounts in all other jurisdictions, repatriation must occur within the next month after receipt.
