Case of Commissioner Customs vs Hightop Trading Private Limited,\u00a0SC Judgement Dated 17th<\/sup>\u00a0October 2025.<\/em>\u00a0The apex court reaffirmed that exports are regulated primarily by the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) and not by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) norms unless such standards are expressly incorporated into the FTP. Upholding the CESTAT\u2019s decision, the Court dismissed the Revenue\u2019s appeal and set aside confiscation, customs duty demand, redemption fine, and penalties imposed on a rice exporter for alleged misclassification.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
