The notification amends Customs and Central Excise Settlement Commission (Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Chairman, Vice-Chairmen and Members) Rules, 2015, It stipulates that any individual holding the position of Chairman, Vice- Chairman, or Member of the commission immediately before a date to be specified by the Central Government will be removed from their office on that date. These individuals will be eligible to receive compensation for the premature termination of their term, with the amount not to exceed three months’ pay and allowances.
