The earlier excise notification 01/2022 (NT), dated 1st February 2022 related to tobacco products, has been amended to substitute the words ‘Pan masala containing tobacco’ with ‘Gutkha’ in the relevant table. It is intended to bring greater clarity and consistency in the excise treatment and regulation of Gutkha.
