The notification introduces a limited relaxation by permitting export of an additional 25 Lakh Metric Tonnes (LMT) of wheat, subject to modalities to be specified through a separate public notice by DGFT. The existing policy conditions shall remain applicable, which include allowing exports based on permissions granted by the Government of India to other countries to meet their food security requirement.
